1. Mainstream Currency

Mainstream coins refer to the top ten cryptocurrencies by market capitalization.

Mainstream currencies are not static, except for Bitcoin and Ethereum, which have long been stable in first and second place.

The mainstream currencies three years ago are very different from the mainstream currencies we see today.

I have been in the cryptocurrency circle for several years. Although the hot spots are very different every year, after the hot spots fade away every year, only Bitcoin and Ethereum remain standing.

According to my own incomplete statistics, about 180,000 crypto projects have failed since 2017. In the cryptocurrency world, it is very easy to encounter a project that goes to zero. In this case, it is definitely safer to hold on to Bitcoin and Ethereum.

There is no need to explain the reason for choosing Bitcoin. Bitcoin has a history of more than ten years since its birth, and it has always been the leader of cryptocurrency. If Bitcoin returns to zero, the cryptocurrency market will no longer exist.

At the beginning of this year, due to the dual impact of the epidemic and oil prices, financial markets including Bitcoin have suffered a certain degree of impact. However, so far this year, the price of Bitcoin has risen by 17.55%.

At present, the price of Bitcoin is still at a relatively high level. If you want to invest in Bitcoin, you can wait and see first, or choose to make a fixed investment like me.

Apart from Bitcoin, Ethereum has the largest ecosystem.

Therefore, for mid- to long-term investment in mainstream currencies, I would give priority to Bitcoin and Ethereum.

2. Altcoins

The short-term explosive power of altcoins is indeed stronger than that of Bitcoin, but high returns are often accompanied by high risks.

Those who only talk about benefits without mentioning risks are hooligans.

Therefore, the correct way to invest in altcoins should be to equip altcoins with small positions.

Investment in altcoins cannot be made blindly. Most of the altcoins that appear silently in a bear market and suddenly in a bull market are just for profiteering.

So we also need to carefully distinguish.

I personally think that the two more successful altcoins this year are link and dot.

In 2021, due to the popularity of the DeFi sector, the market value of the decentralized oracle project LINK skyrocketed, once reaching the fifth place in market value, and is currently stable in the top ten; dot, as the leader of cross-chain projects, has actually existed for a long time, but because it experienced a split this year, its market value also increased significantly, squeezing into the top ten.

I personally do not recommend long-term holding of altcoins, but they can be used for medium- to short-term investments.

Buying altcoins carries greater risks, but the returns may also be higher. If the altcoin you invest in becomes a dark horse when the bull market comes, investors can enjoy considerable returns, which is icing on the cake;

I had arranged LINK at $1.5 in advance at the end of 2019. After LINK rose to $6, I sold part of it. After LINK rose to $7, I added to my position. Finally, I sold it at around $16.

After the Polkadot split in 2021, I bought DOT at $2.7, and DOT doubled in just nine days. Affected by the crash on September 4, 2021, both fell slightly, but the overall decline was not too much.

3. Platform Coin

One of the dark horses among exchange coins is Binance’s BNB.

The reason for the strong market value of BNB is that Binance continues to carry out IEOs, and on the other hand, it is because it has taken the lead in the competition for DeFi in various exchanges, seized the initiative, and was the first to launch new coin mining and release Binance Smart Chain to support the development of DeFi projects.

4. How to analyze whether a currency is worth investing in

When choosing a currency, you can analyze it from the fundamentals, technical aspects and news aspects.

Fundamentals require you to understand the concepts and applications behind the currency you choose in advance, and then comprehensively consider the impact of the macro economy and the general environment. Technical aspects refer to the K-line chart, which requires you to use a series of technical indicators (wave theory, supply and demand trading method, naked K trading method, trend trading method, etc.) to analyze the market trend and determine the entry point and stop profit and stop loss. News refers to the news circulating in the market, but don't just follow the news. News generally lags behind the market, and at most it is a reference for your subsequent reference to the market trend.

In short, everyone can choose according to their own risk tolerance.
