The new roadmap summarizes three years of progress on the ICP mainnet and outlines key areas of development to position the network as the home for DeAI (decentralized artificial intelligence).
Decentralized blockchain network Internet Computer Protocol (ICP) has released a new roadmap to advance decentralized artificial intelligence (DeAI) and chain convergence in the Web3 space.
According to its official statement, ICP released the fourth-year Internet Computer Roadmap to celebrate the third anniversary of its mainnet launch.
ICP releases new roadmap
The new roadmap summarizes the progress of the ICP mainnet over the past three years and outlines major areas of development to position the network as the home of DeAI and the orchestration layer for the blockchain industry. Although the new roadmap outlines several focus areas, the biggest highlight is DeAI and chain integration.
The DeAI roadmap describes a path where AI models will be trained on-chain, taking them beyond black boxes that provide users with no visibility into data usage. ICP’s AI smart contracts will be designed to optimize the inference engine, improving AI’s consistency, reliability, and responsiveness.
ICP hopes to achieve several long-term goals with these new AI models and introduce unprecedented use cases. Some of these include pre-trained AI models traded as non-fungible tokens, AI smart contracts that verify Ethereum smart contract code, and Web3 communities that control AI models through decentralized autonomous organizations.
Dominic Williams, Chief Scientist and Founder of the Dfinity Foundation, said:
“The Internet Computer is the first and only third-generation public blockchain. Our mission is to drive the ‘blockchain singularity’, where, over time, fully decentralized blockchains become the world’s mainstream technology stack, even running secure and unstoppable AI.”
Dealing with liquidity dispersion
Additionally, ICP’s chain fusion roadmap aims to facilitate direct interoperability with major blockchains such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, and the Ethereum Virtual Machine, without the need for intermediaries.
Chain fusion will solve the problem of fragmented liquidity and address tribalism in the blockchain space. ICP’s smart contracts enable developers to create cross-chain contracts by reading and writing to multiple chains.
Williams added: “The DFINITY Foundation and its brilliant team of cryptographers, research scientists, and engineers are now moving forward with a new roadmap, building contributions that will make the network faster, more efficient, and more powerful than ever before.”
Meanwhile, ICP boasts that it has not experienced any downtime since the mainnet launch in May 2021. The network has processed more than 3 billion blocks and accumulated more than $3 billion in total locked value.
Conclusion:
The new roadmap of the Internet Computer Protocol (ICP) paints a grand blueprint for decentralized artificial intelligence (DeAI) and inter-chain interoperability, demonstrating ICP’s ambition to promote the development of blockchain technology and AI integration.
With the continued stable operation of ICP and its unremitting pursuit of innovation, it not only brings new possibilities to the Web3 community, but also sets a new benchmark for the entire blockchain industry.
I believe that with the implementation and development of these new technologies, ICP is expected to become the future platform for decentralized applications and smart contracts, leading us into a more interconnected and automated digital age. #ICP #链互操作性
