The French Financial Market Authority (AMF) blocked access to the Bybit website. According to the AMF's latest statement, crypto exchange Bybit is not authorized to offer digital asset services in France. đŸš« The AMF requires digital asset service providers (DASPs) to register with the AMF before providing services to the public. This helps prevent money laundering and terrorist financing and verify the good reputation and capabilities of managers. It also takes special measures to protect retail investors. Bybit operates illegally in France because it is not registered as a DASP. A month ago, the AMF issued a similar warning to cryptocurrency exchange Bitget. Bitget is also not registered as a DASP and offers digital asset services that require mandatory registration in France. As a result, as of November 7, 2023, Bitget was blacklisted by the AMF for non-compliance with French regulations.
