cLabs proposes to convert Celo from an EVM-compatible standalone L1 to an Ethereum L2 to return to the Ethereum ecosystem, using OP Stack as architecture, operated by Ethereum node operators, and secured with ETH stake again. Currently, cLabs plans to hold an administrative meeting on July 21 to discuss the transition from Celo to L2.
