Elderberry comes with essential ROM-related maximization features that help reduce unnecessary network-specific errors. Plus there are certain tweaks to the new Etrog upgrade.
It can be compared to Ethereum's EVM Interpreter, which interprets the execution logic of transactions. Additionally, it interprets opcodes for Polygon zkEVM.
With Elderberry going live, system builders must follow several steps to use the upgrade effectively. Infra-dev users will require the latest versions of the bridge, benchmark, and node services. However, those who build dApps on the network don't need to go through the trouble. From the end user's perspective, all functionality will remain the same.
Before deployment, testing was performed on the Polygon zkEVM Cardona Testnet. Users can expect a smooth transition.
In February, a 10-day deadline for the Polygon zkEVM Mainnet upgrade was announced and ended on March 7. This deadline was given to users if they wanted to withdraw their funds before performing the upgrade.
