Musk has created a new company dedicated to artificial intelligence, X.AI, according to the Wall Street Journal. A Nevada document shows that the company was registered on March 9, and Musk currently serves as a director and Jared Birchall, a director of Musk's family office, serves as secretary. According to a report from Business Insider, Musk has purchased thousands of graphics processing units (GPUs) to support upcoming generative AI products. The Financial Times reported that Musk plans to create an artificial intelligence company to compete with Microsoft-backed OpenAI. He even sought funding from SpaceX and Tesla investors to start the company.
