He said that he had been thinking about the possibility of redesigning the Ethereum consensus layer for the past year, with the goal of coming up with a reliable strategy to launch the ambitious beacon link roadmap in a reasonable time.
After months of conversations with researchers and consensus developers, he is ready to make his proposal public, stressing that contributions from participants will be crucial if this new approach is to achieve initial consensus.
