According to Cointelegraph, Wyoming Senator Cynthia Lummis reiterated her plan to establish a strategic Bitcoin reserve after the election, which is expected to be advanced when the Republicans take control of the Senate in 2025.
Lummis said on the X platform on Nov. 6 that she will continue to push for plans to build a Bitcoin reserve. The Bitcoin bill she introduced in July proposed that the U.S. government purchase 1 million BTC and hold it for at least 20 years.
With Republicans expected to hold a majority in the Senate after flipping three seats on Election Day, Lummis and his colleagues could have enough votes to support the bill, which is based on Trump's idea that the government not sell confiscated Bitcoins.
Lummis has been a pro-cryptocurrency voice in Congress since taking office in 2021. She did not run for re-election on November 5, but continues to support digital asset policies.
