According to Cointelegraph, decentralized peer-to-peer vacation rental platform Dtravel announced on October 17 that it had joined the non-profit Fetch.ai Foundation and launched the first AI-driven travel agent on the Fetch.ai marketplace. Dtravel was launched in 2021 to provide an alternative to centralized vacation rental platforms such as Airbnb.

Fetch.ai is a decentralized open marketplace platform where developers can develop, deploy, modify, and integrate AI agents on its blockchain. Dtravel’s smart vacation rental discovery agent is now available on the Fetch.ai developer marketplace, allowing developers to integrate it into their projects.

Peter Busche, chairman of the Fetch.ai Foundation, called the collaboration an important step toward a more efficient, intelligent, and user-centric travel ecosystem. Dtravel CEO Cynthia Huang said the entire travel industry could benefit greatly from AI, and success requires both technology development and the creation of an ethical framework for data use.
