According to Cointelegraph, blockchain security company SlowMist warned that more and more users have fallen victim to an old trading robot scam that has been repackaged to take advantage of the artificial intelligence craze. The scammers renamed the original "Uniswap Arbitrage MEV Bot" to "ChatGPT Arbitrage MEV Bot", claiming to use ChatGPT to generate code to increase credibility. Victims are guided to create a MetaMask wallet and click on the fraudulent link on the Remix platform. After deploying the robot, they are asked to deposit ETH to activate the smart contract, but the deposited ETH will be transferred to the scammer's wallet. SlowMist found three scammer addresses that have stolen a total of 50 ETH, worth more than $130,000, since August. The scammers use a wide-ranging strategy to steal small amounts of funds, and the victims are reluctant to pursue them because of the small losses. SlowMist warned that there are many videos promoting such scams on the Internet, especially on YouTube. Videos and audio are out of sync or use recycled footage, as well as a large number of praise and thanks comments in the comment area are warning signs of scams.
