According to CoinDesk, a British man sued the local council in an attempt to retrieve a hard drive containing 8,000 BTC that was accidentally discarded in 2013. The man, James Howells, plans to conduct a $13 million landfill excavation, which is expected to take 18 to 36 months to complete and another year for restoration. The council rejected the request due to environmental issues. Howells said his goal is to force the council to agree to the excavation through litigation to avoid legal disputes. The case will go to trial in December this year.
