According to PANews, Sonic Labs Chief Technology Officer Andre Cronje posted on the X platform that investors and companies prefer centralization because decentralization is difficult to make a profit and complicated to operate.

He predicts that many decentralized applications (dapps) will transition to Layer 2 (L2), but when management becomes difficult, they will decentralize again and become Layer 1 (L1).

Likewise, some L1s may become L2s because it is easier to manage centralized sequencers, until they need to be decentralized again to become L1s.

He believes that although it goes against traditional technological concepts, "monolitic" solutions may ultimately prevail.
