According to ChainCatcher, Web3 football game Sorare has been accused by the UK Gambling Commission of conducting unlicensed gambling.
The commission said Sorare had breached the Gambling Act 2005 by providing gambling facilities without a licence to operate. A court hearing has been set for October 4.
Sorare disputed the allegations, saying the law was applied improperly, and strongly denied that it was a gambling product under UK law.
It is reported that Sorare is a football fantasy league game that uses the Ethereum blockchain and allows players to trade football cards.
