According to TechFlow, Congressman Brad Sherman mentioned the topic of cryptocurrency for the first time after Patrick McHenry, Chairman of the U.S. House Financial Services Committee, spoke.

“The SEC is the primary agency responsible for investor protection, and has responsibility for almost every other intangible investment asset,” Sherman said. “We can provide clarity, although I don’t think it’s necessary, by passing additional regulations to make it clear that cryptocurrencies are securities.”
