According to CoinDesk, former Alameda Research CEO Caroline Ellison was sentenced by a federal judge to two years in prison and forfeit approximately $11 billion. She will serve her sentence in a minimum security facility.

Ellison testified at Bankman-Fried's criminal trial last year on charges that he attempted to bribe foreign officials and knowingly provided misleading financial data to lenders. Prosecutors called her testimony the "cornerstone" of Bankman-Fried's conviction.

Bankman-Fried was convicted of seven counts of fraud and conspiracy and sentenced to 25 years in prison earlier this year and is currently appealing.

Ellison's lawyers argued before the hearing that she had provided "extraordinary cooperation" and posed no risk of reoffending.
