According to Cointelegraph, the decentralized GPU cloud computing network Aethir has partnered with the Filecoin Foundation to solve the GPU shortage problem in the fields of artificial intelligence and Web3. The collaboration integrates GPU rental services with Filecoin's decentralized storage network.

Mark Rydon, Chief Strategy Officer and Co-founder of Aethir, said that traditional systems cannot meet the computing and storage needs. Filecoin's decentralized storage backbone complements Aethir's decentralized GPU cloud infrastructure to provide a secure and scalable way to manage data.

At the FIL Singapore event, Rydon discussed the importance of computing support for decentralized infrastructure. Aethir has more than 43,000 GPUs, including Nvidia H100s, to meet the growing computing needs.

Decentralized GPU cloud computing faces challenges such as global shortages and inefficient GPU usage. The collaboration focuses on solving these problems through AI-driven data security, using node data stored on the Filecoin network.

In June this year, Aethir launched a decentralized cloud computing network on the Ethereum mainnet, enabling idle GPU resources to contribute to the GPU-as-a-service solution network. Developers and enterprises can rent computing resources on the Aethir network to support AI model training or large-scale rendering of digital content.
