Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele has revealed part of his plan to boost El Salvador’s economy, one of his biggest goals for his second term, ChainCatcher reports.

In a speech marking the country’s independence, Bukele said next year’s budget would be self-financing and no debt would be issued to sustain government operations.

Bukele stressed that El Salvador will not even pay the interest on its debt by issuing more debt during this period and all payments will be made using self-financed funds.
