According to ChainCatcher, Superfast founder Martin Tromp launched the Solana verification node at the Teraco data center in Johannesburg. Solana is a fast and scalable blockchain platform that competes with Ethereum. As a proof-of-stake (PoS) system, verification nodes play a key role in network security and transaction verification.

Tromp initially deployed the node in Cape Town, but due to latency issues caused by a submarine cable break, it was moved to Johannesburg. Despite being farther from the coast, performance was improved at the new location thanks to hardware upgrades.
