As Cointelegraph reported, decentralized manufacturing network 3DOS recently launched its peer-to-peer 3D printing network on the Sui blockchain. 3DOS announced the news on September 12 and currently has 79,909 3D printers in its ecosystem, covering more than 120 countries.

Founded in 2019, 3DOS is a peer-to-peer goods sharing network. Its protocol and software allow anyone with a compatible 3D printer to accept network print requests. 3DOS uses digital asset tokens and blockchain technology to incentivize creators to upload designs and manufacturers to participate.

The 3DOS network uses its own 3DOS token, which allows creators and engineers to upload designs for free and potentially earn royalties from a single print. Fees are only charged when a product is ordered for printing, according to the company website.

3DOS had previously explored developing its own blockchain, but the strategic partnership with Sui provides a low-friction onboarding experience. Sui’s zkLogin technology allows users to log in via Google or Twitch accounts.
