According to Odaily Planet Daily, the U.S. Department of Commerce said on Monday that it is proposing detailed reporting requirements for advanced artificial intelligence developers and cloud computing providers to ensure that the technology is secure and can withstand cyber attacks.

The proposal, put forward by the U.S. Department of Commerce's Bureau of Industry and Security, would require that the development of "cutting-edge" artificial intelligence models and computing clusters must be reported to the U.S. federal government.

The proposal would also require reporting on cybersecurity measures and the results of so-called “red team” work, such as testing dangerous capabilities, including the ability to assist in cyberattacks or lower the barriers to entry for non-experts to develop chemical, biological, radiological or nuclear weapons.
