With four days to go until the presidential debate between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump, crypto advocacy group Chamber of Progress has called for a discussion of digital assets during the debate, Cointelegraph reported.

On September 5, the Chamber of Progress sent a letter to ABC News reporters Linsey Davis and David Muir, asking them to raise the topic of digital assets during the September 10 debate.

The group noted that voters need to understand the candidates’ positions on cryptocurrencies, particularly why Trump changed his previous stance on cryptocurrencies.

Trump called Bitcoin a "scam" in 2021, but after announcing his re-election campaign, he began to support cryptocurrencies and launched an NFT series.

Harris’s stance on cryptocurrencies, by contrast, is less clear, but her top advisers have said she would support policies that boost the industry.

The Chamber of Progress said candidates should clarify their positions during the debate to help voters better understand this important issue.
