According to Odaily, Colin Butler, Global Head of Institutional Capital at Polygon, highlighted a $30 trillion market opportunity in Real World Assets (RWA) during a recent interview. Butler emphasized that high-net-worth individuals and private equity funds are driving the adoption of this sector, as tokenization brings liquidity and accessibility to historically illiquid asset classes. Data from RWA.xyz indicates that investments in tokenized private credit instruments have reached approximately $9 billion to date. Butler noted that this figure is expected to grow significantly with the entry of large private equity funds into the space, a trend that has already begun and is anticipated to continue, potentially leading to the issuance of hundreds of billions of dollars in tokenized private assets over the coming years. Beyond stablecoins, the current RWA market size stands at $11.66 billion, with tokenized money market funds being particularly popular. Notable examples include BlackRock's BUIDL and Franklin's FOBXX, which manage around $520 million and $420 million, respectively.
