According to Bloomberg, an investment group Apex has proposed to acquire Paramount Global for $4.3 billion. Spokespeople for Paramount and National Amusements declined to comment. Paramount shares rose about 3% to $11.60. Apex said it was willing to pay Skydance a $400 million breakup fee and purchase National Amusements' voting and non-voting shares at $35.03 and $23.28, respectively. Apex is also willing to purchase voting shares from outside investors at $35.03 and 69% of non-voting shares at $23.28. In addition, Apex proposed to assume about $15.8 billion of Paramount's debt and inject $10 billion for future projects. Transaction experts expressed skepticism about the proposal, believing that the buyer's background is unclear.
