According to ChainCatcher, the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission issued a press release warning the public to beware of an entity operating under the name Proxinex suspected of engaging in virtual asset-related fraud.

Investors reported having difficulty withdrawing virtual assets from Proxinex and were subsequently told that their “accounts did not exist.”

The SFC suspects that Proxinex hired agents to lure investors into depositing money into Proxinex through dating apps and forged documents to embellish their resumes.

The Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission has included Proxinex and its related websites on the warning list on July 29, 2024. Although the relevant websites are currently unavailable, the public should be aware that scammers may continue to establish websites with similar domain names.
