According to Odaily Planet Daily, NEO founder Da Hongfei recently said that he has regained control of his social media accounts and expressed sincere apologies to the community. Da Hongfei explained that he received an email requesting a password reset at 11:30 pm Singapore time on July 6, and realized 50 minutes later that his account had been locked. The hacker changed his account password, enabled two-factor authentication (2FA), and began posting posts containing scam links. Da Hongfei pointed out that the hack was because he had previously connected multiple third-party websites/applications (office and calendar management services) to his email, and the hacker somehow used these permissions to gain access to read the contents of his email.
