According to Foresight News, Sony Group has expanded its business portfolio by acquiring Amber Japan, marking its entry into the cryptocurrency trading platform sector. Sony Group, with a market value exceeding $100 billion, has a diverse range of businesses including gaming, music, and cameras.
Earlier this year, Amber Group, a Singapore-based market maker, acquired the regulated Japanese cryptocurrency trading platform DeCurret and renamed it Amber Japan. In a previous report by Foresight News, Amber Group completed a $200 million financing round in February 2022, valued at $3 billion. The round saw participation from investors such as Temasek, Sequoia China, Pantera Capital, and Tiger Global Management.
