According to U.Today, Ripple's chief technology officer David Schwartz commented on a recent video released by Ripple. In the video, Ripple's CEO Brad Garlinghouse lashed out at scammers who often impersonate him on various social media platforms. Schwartz made a rather sarcastic comment on the anti-scam video, saying that he first saw it during a Zoom meeting. He also mentioned the joke Garlinghouse made at the end of the video that at least his "hair was done well." Schwartz concluded on Twitter that he was disappointed when he watched the video a second time, but did not give a specific explanation. In the video, Garlinghouse denounced the scammers who tried to impersonate him as "pathetic scumbags" and said that Ripple is fighting back against them. In addition, scammers have begun to use AI tools to carry out more sophisticated cryptocurrency scams. U.Today recently reported that some fairly realistic fake Brad Garlinghouse and Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson appeared in such fake videos, urging the community to send them XRP and ADA, and then received double the amount sent as a giveaway. Hoskinson commented on this, predicting that within the next few years, such AI-generated deepfake videos will be indistinguishable from the real thing.
