According to Cointelegraph: Google has enhanced its artificial intelligence (AI) model, Gemini, with two fresh updates to advanced and business versions even as it grapples with social media uproar over controversial historical imagery.

On February 20 and 21, Google released updates aimed at bettering user experience. The first update allows Gemini Advanced users to now edit and run Python code snippets directly in its interface. This modification helps users streamline their coding process and verify functionality before implementing code in other applications.

The second update caters to Gemini’s business and enterprise plans. It provides users access to 1.0 Ultra — one of Google's most advanced models that has enterprise-grade data protection. This prohibits Gemini from leveraging conversations for training models, addressing past concerns of major companies like Samsung.

In spite of these improvements, Google has drawn criticism from the online community about Gemini's inaccurate historical image generation. The tech giant met with significant disapproval on social media over the biased and incorrect depiction of history.

Acknowledging this issue, Jack Krawczyk, a Google Gemini AI developer, admitted the existence of inaccuracies in Gemini's historical image output and mentioned that the team is working on immediate remedies. However, this controversy has stirred dissatisfaction among some Google employees and also comparisons of Gemini's bias issues with OpenAI's ChatGPT.

Amid this heated discourse, Tesla's Elon Musk posted about his own AI model, Grok—despite being in the spotlight for using a term similar to Groq, an AI language processing unit (LPU) chip trademarked in 2016—that is set to release updates in the subsequent weeks.
