According to the Daily Planet, Bitcoin ZK Rollup protocol Citrea has completed a $2.7 million seed round of financing, led by Galaxy Ventures, with participation from Delphi Ventures, Taproot Wizards co-founder Eric Wall, and modular blockchain Avail co-founder Anurag Arjun. Citrea is committed to helping Bitcoin better adapt to DeFi, NFT, and other use cases that were previously only possible on smart contract-based blocks, and Bitcoin will also be able to handle these use cases in the future. Citrea's ZK Rollup will be built on Ethereum EVM, making it easier for developers to migrate applications they have built for Ethereum and other compatible networks. The team plans to release a test network next quarter.
