According to Blockworks, Yuga Labs co-founder Greg Solano announced on Wednesday that he will return to the position of CEO of the company. In January of this year, former Activision Blizzard CEO Daniel Alegre replaced Nicole Muniz as CEO. Alegre said: "I am very grateful for the opportunity to lead this great team and connect with many community members around the world. Yuga has a bright future." Solano said he was energized to "take the helm again in our next chapter." Solano plans to "liberate" the Bored Apes Yacht Club team. He said: "A new company called 'BAYC LLC' was established as a subsidiary of Yuga and will be responsible for all BAYC affairs. We have a group of cracking masters in the BAYC team, but there are still several important positions to be filled." The team will also increase the efforts of Otherside communications, planning to turn it into a "default space" for users to "play and hang out" with the Web3 community. Last October, Yuga Labs announced layoffs in the United States as part of a restructuring plan under the leadership of Alegre. At the time, Solano reiterated that Yuga Labs still had more than 120 employees after the layoffs. The former executive also highlighted the company’s focus on Otherside, saying “every ongoing digital connection will be part of the evolution of Otherside.”
