According to the Daily Planet, the UK government plans to have lawmakers approve new rules for managing stablecoins and crypto asset pledge services within the next six months. Bim Afolami, the UK Treasury's economic secretary, said the government is "pushing hard" for legislation and hopes to get things done as soon as possible. Last October, the UK Treasury first promised to provide more clarity on specific areas of cryptocurrency sometime in 2024, but a broader proposal to bring crypto exchanges and other industry providers into existing financial services rules remains pending.
