Binance announced that it will donate $100,000 worth of cryptocurrency to the Turkish nonprofit “Ahbap,” which will be used directly to build earthquake-resistant steel houses for affected families.
Ahbap was founded in July 2017 by Haluk Levent, a famous Turkish rock musician. After Turkey was hit by a severe earthquake earlier this year, Ahbap worked closely with other non-governmental organizations to provide aid and support to the affected areas. One of the organization's main initiatives is the construction of earthquake-resistant steel houses.
“Recovery and reconstruction initiatives are crucial to help communities and their economies overcome the hardships that follow disasters. It takes a lot of time, energy, and resources. By partnering with Ahbap, Binance hopes to provide our share of support and practical support to those in need,” said Mucahit Donmez, General Manager of Binance Turkey.
