According to Foresight News, Polygon Labs Chief Legal Officer Rebecca Rettig has written a letter to US Senators Ron Wyden, D-Ore., Mike Crapo, and R-Idaho, suggesting that potential rewards from staking should be taxed at the time of token sale, rather than when they are accumulated. Rettig argues that the same rules should apply when taxpayers create artwork, manufacture goods, bake pies, sign their names on paper, or otherwise control property without a previous owner.
