According to CryptoPotato, in response to the CFTC's recent accusations against three DeFi-related companies, Opyn, ZeroEx and Deridex, Ian McGinley, director of the CFTC's enforcement division, said in a statement: "I don't know when DeFi operators have had the idea that illegal transactions facilitated by smart contracts will become legal transactions, but this is not the case. The DeFi field may be new, complex and evolving, but the CFTC's enforcement division will continue to develop with it and actively pursue those who operate unregistered platforms and allow Americans to trade digital asset derivatives."
