'I like profitability': Czech central bank chief proposes allocating up to 5% of reserves to #bitcoin
Czech National Bank Governor Ale Michl will present a plan to allocate up to 5% of its £140bn ($146bn) of reserves to #BTC , according to The Financial Times.
Michl told the FT that he will present the bitcoin investment plan to the central bank's board of directors on Thursday to diversify its reserves. If approved, the CNB would become the first known central bank to hold the largest cryptocurrency.
The governor acknowledged bitcoin's volatility and limited track record, but noted growing investor interest since #blackRock and other asset managers launched Bitcoin Spot ETFs in the United States and President Trump's campaign promises to deregulate cryptocurrencies and create a Bitcoin Strategic Reserve.
