Lawsuit to Reclaim 8,000 BTC Enters New Phase

#JamesHowells , the man who lost 8,000 Bitcoins in a UK landfill 12 years ago, has filed an appeal to the Royal Court of London after the High Court rejected his request to excavate them.

Despite Judge Keyser KC declaring the case “without any prospect of success,” Howells is confident that he has a solid legal case. Newport City Council has repeatedly refused to allow excavation on grounds of environmental damage.

Leveraging AI to Represent Himself

After the recent defeat, Howells parted ways with his legal team and decided to represent himself, with the support of an AI specialized in English law.

The reason for this decision is that he did not have time to find a new lawyer within the required timeframe. Previously, the old legal team agreed to work for free in exchange for a portion of the lost Bitcoin if successful.

Howells asserts:

"I understand the case, understand the law, and with specialized AI, I am confident that I can win the appeal."

Opportunity to Retrieve the Bitcoin Treasure?

If he wins the lawsuit, Howells could execute his plan to excavate the landfill to recover the Bitcoin worth hundreds of millions of USD. However, with legal and environmental barriers, this path remains fraught with challenges.

Can #AI help Howells turn the tide? This 'Bitcoin treasure hunt' story is certainly not over yet! 🚀
