There's no point in sitting on the sidelines, says Jesse Pollack, the creator of the rule — it's time to jump in and build your own AI agent.

As crypto traders struggle to find the perfect AI crypto token to get rich, Base creator Jesse Pollack suggests a more direct approach: “Go build something.”

“There are all these sets of tools that allow you to start experimenting with building your own AI agent out of the box,” Pollack tells Hall of Flame.

Virtuals on Base is “really cool,” he says, but there’s another platform called Me.fun where you don’t have to tokenize your AI agent. It lets you customize the agent, tweak its instructions, and connect different data sources.

If you create an AI agent that starts generating content on Zora and others start minting NFTs, “now you’re making money,” Pollack explains.

“One of the great things about being on the chain is that you can get paid for your creativity.”

Pollack believes that anything you do on the chain has value. If you create something that gets attention and people find it cool, he says, there's always a way for value to flow to you.

“The technology is finally ready on the AI side and the chain side, and we’re finally seeing the intersection of those two,” explained a computer science dropout turned cult hero in the crypto industry with over 200,000 followers.

Pollack responded to Feders’ claim that “AI in crypto is dead,” saying, “We’re just at the beginning.”

The market cap of the top AI and data tokens is around $47.46 billion — about a third of the total DeFi market cap of $153.53 billion, according to CoinMarketCap.

“There is no better way to get involved in this than learning by building,” says the tech genius with a strong passion for football, who has always had an entrepreneurial spirit.

Even with Pollack's busy schedule that includes running the base and traveling the world, he still finds time to visit a restaurant in his hometown of Oakland called Day Trip, which he co-owns with two of his best friends.

In 2022, Bon Appétit recognized it as one of the ten best new restaurants in the United States.

How did Jesse Pollack build his following on X?

Pollack has been on X since January 2009 and has 200,900 followers — but he says about 90% of them came after Base launched in February 2023.
