Cardano ADA Ripple RLUSD

Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson confirmed on Monday (13) that the blockchain is considering integrating RLUSD, Ripple's new stablecoin.

Since its launch in December, RLUSD has gained considerable publicity for its efforts to become a leading stablecoin. Integration with a DeFi ecosystem like Cardano’s could boost its usage and notoriety.

Cardano in talks with Ripple

Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson revealed these talks with Ripple in a heated discussion on social media. RLUSD received regulatory approval in the US less than a month ago, but it is already making a big splash in the crypto space.

It integrated Chainlink Standard last week and is now building a new partnership:

“If there is a reasonable path to integrate RLUSD, I will try to do it as a gift to the ecosystem. Cardano needs a solid ecosystem of stablecoins, from USDM and Djed to RLUSD. We have already had a call with the RLUSD guys. We are in talks,” Hoskinson said.

Ripple has been gaining goodwill in various sectors of the crypto industry, and this relationship with Cardano could be yet another fruit of that.

The company has secured global exchange support for RLUSD ahead of its launch, and the new stablecoin was used in a high-profile charity drive two days ago. Hoskinson praised Ripple, saying it “has a real community, leadership and purpose.”

Cardano’s ADA token has been on a chaotic price trajectory recently. A week ago, it was heading towards a two-year high, but bearish activity quickly turned price resistance into a sharp decline.

Long-term holders continue to try to keep the price strong, but this deal with Ripple could generate especially positive publicity for Cardano.

Ripple and Cardano together – a win-win relationship

Ripple, however, also has a lot to gain from integrating RLUSD with Cardano. That’s because the company has a bold vision of challenging the leading stablecoins with RLUSD, and that will require widespread adoption. Ripple is working to build acceptance across exchanges, but the leading DeFi blockchain ecosystem would primarily open up new opportunities.

In short, both parties have a strong motivation for these talks to succeed, but nothing concrete has been determined. In fact, Hoskinson probably wouldn't have revealed these negotiations if he thought they were going badly.

However, the final agreement between Ripple and Cardano may involve other stipulations, which are currently unpredictable.
