According to the BBC, Judge Keyser, commercial judge of Wales, has dismissed Howells' lawsuit that sought access to the Newport landfill to recover his hard drive.
James Howells, one of the early users of #Bitcoin , mined 8,000 BTC in 2009, equivalent to over US$700 million, when it cost almost nothing to do so. He accidentally disposed of the hard drive in 2013, when the cryptocurrency was trading at just US$13.
