PANews reported on January 9 that, according to CoinDesk, cryptocurrency exchange Gemini has appointed a new European executive team to drive its regional expansion plans for 2025. Mark Jennings has been appointed as the head of Europe, having previously served as Chief Operating Officer of Kraken's European business; Daniel Slutzkin has been appointed as the head of the UK, previously from the UK brokerage Stake. Additionally, Vijay Selvam will serve as the International General Counsel, responsible for licensing and regulatory strategy in Europe and the UK. He has been transferred from the Gemini Asia-Pacific team to work in the UK.

This appointment comes as EU member states face the December 30 deadline for the implementation of the MiCA regulation, which establishes new rules for crypto service providers. Jennings stated that Gemini is committed to seizing sustainable growth opportunities under the European regulatory framework and expanding its digital asset business.
