In the cryptocurrency industry, the rapid rise of Web3 games and artificial intelligence (AI) agents is becoming the focus of attention for investors and developers. Sonic SVM, a Solana Virtual Machine (SVM) Layer-2 network focused on gaming, recently partnered with venture capital firm Galaxy Interactive to announce the establishment of G.A.M.E. Fund 1, a fund aimed at accelerating the innovation and development of Web3 games, AI agents, and social media content creation tools.
G.A.M.E. Fund 1: Supporting Web3 Games and AI Agents
The main objective of this fund is to promote the progress of various Web3 games and AI-driven content creation tools on the HyperGrid platform. The fund will provide up to $1 million in funding support for each project, with no limit on the number of projects. Additionally, participants will receive technical support, infrastructure support, marketing support, and user growth support. Notably, the fund also plans to integrate with Sonic's TikTok Applayer, which currently has over 2 million users.
Sam Englebardt, founding partner of Galaxy Interactive, stated that Sonic is expected to become an important bridge connecting Web2 and Web3 games, promoting the integration of traditional and emerging gaming platforms. Englebardt also mentioned that this fund represents their support for cutting-edge innovative teams, especially those that can leverage artificial intelligence and social platforms to redefine interactive entertainment.
First Investment: Gomble Games
As the fund's first investment, Sonic SVM and Galaxy Interactive confirmed their support for Gomble Games. The project is backed by Binance Labs and Animoca Brands, aiming to transform traditional Web2 games into Web3 games. According to Gomble Games' statement, the company has become one of the most popular mobile game applications in South Korea since 2023, attracting over 110 million independent users globally, covering 230 games.
The Integration of AI Agents and Web3 Games
Chris Zhu, founder and CEO of Sonic SVM, emphasized that the future of gaming will be driven by the deep integration of high-performance infrastructure, artificial intelligence, and social connections. In an interview, he pointed out that AI will create diverse interfaces in the future, allowing users to interact with the digital and real worlds on a deeper level.
Zhu believes that AI agents will become a key driving force for the popularization of Web3 games. These agents can not only interact on social media platforms like X (formerly Twitter) and TikTok but may also become core tools for gaming and content creation. He points out that as the complexity of agent creation and interaction increases, the social influence and economic value of agents will show tremendous growth potential.
The Rise of AI Cryptocurrencies and Autonomous Agents
Recently, the trend of AI cryptocurrencies and autonomous AI agents has attracted widespread attention in the industry. The AI agent Luna on the Virtuals Protocol recently completed an autonomous blockchain transaction without human intervention, marking a new advancement for AI in the cryptocurrency field. Industry observers predict that with the combination of AI agents and cryptocurrencies, this emerging field will experience explosive growth by 2025.
Alvin Kan, Chief Operating Officer of Bitget Wallet, said in an interview that decentralized AI agents and AI-driven investment platforms (such as ai16z and Hyperliquid) are expected to see growth opportunities in 2025, predicting that this will be a technology-driven transformation, albeit with higher risks.
The G.A.M.E. Fund 1, launched in partnership between Sonic SVM and Galaxy Interactive, not only provides funding support for the development of Web3 games and AI agents but also helps teams accelerate innovation through technical and marketing support. As the integration of AI agents and Web3 games continues, industry attention on this emerging field is rising and is expected to become a key driver of technological innovation in 2025.
