Fake OKX plugins found in the Firefox browser store
According to cybersecurity company CertiK, malicious browser extensions can be used to steal sensitive information and funds.
The cryptocurrency exchange OKX has alerted users about fraudulent OKX browser extensions appearing in the Firefox plugin repository. The extensions integrate third-party functionality into the web browser interface.
According to OKX, the company has not released any plugins for the Firefox browser and has advised users who may have accidentally downloaded this plugin to transfer any funds from wallets connected to the fraudulent extension.
OKX has contacted Firefox to remove the applications and reminds users to never download OKX-specific software from third parties. #OKXExchange
