CoinSwitch, one of the major crypto exchanges in India, has launched a rescue fund worth ₹600 crore ($69.9 million) for victims of the cyberattack that its rival WazirX suffered in July 2024. The move is seen as part of CoinSwitch’s strategy to acquire customers from WazirX. The fund aims to compensate WazirX users for their losses and strengthen the Indian crypto ecosystem. Users need to submit WazirX loss declarations to claim the funds. CoinSwitch will fund the program from its own cash reserves. Share your views in the comments.
