Bitcoin ETFs have attracted nearly three times the amount of BTC produced in December
Spot Bitcoin ETFs in the United States accumulated up to 51,500 BTC in December, while only a small fraction of that was mined.
Bitcoin exchange-traded funds in the United States brought in nearly three times the nearly 14,000 coins mined by miners in December 2024.
December was a big month for spot Bitcoin ETFs in the United States, accumulating around 51,500 BTC, according to average data from Apollo and BiTBO.
The momentum was driven by the spot market, with Bitcoin reaching an all-time high of $108,135 on December 17, according to CoinGecko.
Meanwhile, according to Blockchain.com, only 13,850 coins were added to the circulating supply during the month, meaning demand for Bitcoin solely from ETFs was about 272% higher than the supply.
