The Hong Kong police dismantled a group of diplomatic scammers

The law enforcement agencies of Hong Kong arrested 31 members of a criminal group involved in fraud using diplomatic technologies. This was reported by The Star.

The criminals lured victims under the guise of romantic relationships and investments. Their profits exceeded 34 million Hong Kong dollars (~4.37 million US dollars).

The Hong Kong Police Commercial Crime Bureau reported that the syndicate rented two premises in neighboring industrial buildings to "carry out fraudulent activities, which included showing victims fake images of beautiful women from the Internet."

The group members worked in two shifts, attracting young people with promises of quick money for successful scams.
