🏦The Bank of Sweden holds more power than most realize In fact it's the OLDEST central bank dating all the way back to 1668. Beyond this they're 1 of 8 initial founding banks of the BIS. This is why them explicitly mentioning $ALGO & $HBAR in their CBDC developments holds such weight. It's no secret by now that central banks around the world are all coalescing towards the future of money being digital currencies. And the biggest culprit of this over the past few years has been the Bank for International Settlements. Since 2020 the BIS has coordinated 20+ CBDC pilots across various nations. Once again... The Bank of Sweden was 1 of 8 founding central banks of the BIS. In terms of monetary position, the Bank of Sweden is in an interesting spot. Often referred to as Sveriges Riksbank, they hold a unique spot within Europe's economy. Fundamentally they're an official member of the European Union, but they don't use the Euro. In other words, the talks of the Digital Euro in CBDC talks don't quite relate to Bank of Sweden. Instead they're working on the E-Krona. This same E-Krona has been tested on both Hedera and Algorand, publicly mentioned by the Bank of Sweden. Interestingly enough, both networks have also been some of the few that have seen connections to the BIS. As we know both networks are no strangers to CBDC developments whatsoever. With regards to Hedera, there's obviously EMTECH which uses HCS & HTS. On Algorand's end we've seen extensive adoption by the EU on TIPS HashLink. This was the solution that Algorand was leveraged for by the Bank of Italy for bond settlements. In return we're now seeing TIPS Hashlink adopted by the European Central Bank & even used in some BIS CBDC pilots. Put simply... Both these networks have had prior experience being CBDC infrastructure. So when we see the Bank of Sweden select these 2 networks specifically to test for CBDCs... It raises some eyes. Cr.Web3Alert
