Odaily Planet Daily News Former U.S. prosecutor and cryptocurrency advocate John Deaton has proposed that the incoming Trump administration investigate Operation Chokepoint 2.0. This is an unverified plan that allegedly seeks to exclude cryptocurrency companies from the traditional banking system. "If these actions go unchallenged, they will create a dangerous precedent where regulators can quietly suppress entire industries they dislike, stifling innovation, competition, and economic opportunity," Deaton stated in a January 4 post on X, which was sent to incoming U.S. President Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and leaders of the Department of Government Efficiency Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnik, and AI and cryptocurrency 'czar' David Sacks. He added, "This is not just a fight for the cryptocurrency industry; it is a struggle against the erosion of institutional integrity and the unchecked power of unelected bureaucrats." It is reported that the so-called 'designer' of Operation Chokepoint 2.0, Martin Gruenberg, resigned from his position as FDIC Chairman last November.
