The largest single holder is the ETH2 Deposit Contract, which holds over 38 million ETH (valued at more than $100 billion). This contract accumulates ETH from validators participating in Ethereum's staking mechanism to secure the network.
Among institutional entities, Grayscale stands out as the largest holder, managing approximately $6.62 billion in ETH assets.
BlackRock has also emerged as a significant player, holding around 993,592 ETH (valued at $3.5 billion), making it the 12th largest ETH holder globally.
Additionally, Robinhood, through its crypto trading platform, holds approximately $2.54 billion worth of ETH, positioning it as the fifth-largest ETH holder.
In terms of individual holders, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin possesses about 245,000 ETH (valued at approximately $650 million). Another notable individual is Rain Lohmus, an early investor who holds 250,000 ETH; however, reports indicate he has lost access to his wallet.
Overall, the top 104 whale wallets collectively control about 57% of the total ETH supply, amounting to approximately $333 billion. This concentration underscores the significant influence these large holders have on the Ethereum ecosystem.
