Having 'stationed' at Binance Square for a long time, I found that many beginners still treat cryptocurrency like stocks, engaging in 'life-or-death' trading with high-leverage contracts, or throwing coins into exchanges like deposits. This approach seems simple but actually carries great risks. Today, I want to share some of my insights in hopes of helping newcomers to the cryptocurrency world.
First of all, does your cryptocurrency really belong to you?
Many friends buy coins on Binance or other exchanges without realizing that the coins in exchanges do not fully belong to them. Many on-chain rewards or protocol dividends can only be truly enjoyed by those holding coins in a Web3 wallet.
Why do I specifically mention this? Because owning a Web3 wallet is the first real step to exploring cryptocurrency. Almost all official airdrop rewards from projects require connecting a Web3 wallet to claim. Coins in exchanges are like being placed in a 'bank,' while the real profit opportunities lie in the wallet.
Instead of staring at candlestick charts to bet on price fluctuations, try participating in early projects.
Many people are accustomed to 'life-or-death' trading by staring at candlestick charts, neglecting the possibility of participating in early projects. Before being listed on exchanges, many projects distribute tokens through airdrops or node rewards. Some projects require you to purchase their cryptocurrency products (such as nodes) and then continuously distribute reward tokens to you. During the TGE phase, once the tokens are unlocked, some projects may even achieve several times or even dozens of times their value in a day.
These early opportunities are the 'true sweet spot' of cryptocurrency investment. Instead of buying at high points on exchanges, it's better to use a Web3 wallet to participate in these early distribution activities, acquiring original tokens at low cost and selling them after listing for profit. You might think the threshold is high, but actually, you just need a simple Web3 wallet to get started.
