U.S. lawmaker kicks off 2025 by revealing investment in altcoin
Georgia Representative Mike Collins has disclosed his investment in Ether and other cryptocurrencies since taking office in 2023.
As members of the U.S. Congress prepare to begin the 119th session, a representative from Georgia has filed a disclosure regarding cryptocurrency exposure on the first day of the new year.
In a financial disclosure report submitted to the U.S. House of Representatives on January 1, Representative Mike Collins revealed that he purchased Ski Mask Dog (SKI) for between $1,001 and $15,000, a token that was launched in May 2024.
According to the report — as well as a report filed in December — Representative Collins made three purchases, each up to $15,000, of the token between December 1 and December 3, approximately a month after the U.S. elections, at a time when the prices of many cryptocurrencies were soaring.
Collins, a Republican, ran for Congress in Georgia's 10th congressional district in November, defeating Democratic candidate Lexy Doherty with over 63% of the vote.
